Trouble with keeping shoe laces tied and tight?

I found using a pair of hemostats to pull the shoe lace tighter works well. My Sunday shoes with shorter slippery laces would not stay tied the three hours in Church! Now there is no re -tyiing!

Three hours in Church? I'd have to take my Shoes off.

Laces do seem impossible nowadays to stay fastened.

Try to find longer laces so you can double knot them. For me the thought of wearing shoes for three hours, all laced up ( they feel like a straight jacket) . I am still putting on summer sandles or nothing at home.. Hot feet start my feet to freeze.

Try elastic laces. Not only do they stay tied, you can put shoes on/off without undoing laces - just use a shoe horn.

I agree.....elastic shoe laces and a shoe-horn "work for me!" :)

I can't even put my shoes on much less tie them or worry about them coming untied. My husband has to do it for me I can't cross my legs do to muscle rigidity. I've tied placing my foot on a raised platform which works pretty good for getting shoes on with shoe horn assist but still can't do the socks. :-(

I buy high quality slip-ons, also I have found that using tools to help do anything, you have to be inventive. Hemostats Eh? good move, I use them to open those pesky plastic tamper proof bands. good luck!
