help with tremor
Try Sinemet or it's generic Carbidopa/Levadopa.
I am on Stalevo, with the addition of Requip and Sinemet CR. These are very hit and miss and always have been. Seeing my Consultant soon as she has yet another med to try. Hope for an improvement.
What is the difference in sinement and it's generic carbidopa/Levadopa? Is one better than te other?
I was on Artane for tremor in addition to carbidopa/Levadopa but stopped it because of the dry mouth side effect. My tremor seems a little worse now without the Artane but I don't mind since it was never my major problem anyway. But maybe you can ask your doctor about it.
I know everyone is different and a med that works for one may not work for another. I have taken Azilect for 2 yrs. there are downsides to it, but my tremor is controlled probably 90 % of the time. I still feel "internal tremors" at times and my voice with tremor but it is far better than before. I had come to the point that I could hardly stand without falling.
My handwritting still shows a tremor and becomes illegible if I write more than a short sentence but it is an improvement over not being able to write at all!
There are loads of restrictions with Azilect and it is massively expensive, thankfully mine is covered. I did not have coverage in the beginning and was able to get it free from the manufacturer.
Sounds like your doctor needs a call! It might be time to add in the sinemet. Wish you luck, tell us what happens,
I was on Mirapex years ago, did not like side affects. Talk to your Dr. As for my cocktail for my PD, Azilect, Amantadine, and Neupro 24 hr patch. GL.
Beer and exercise in any order. But newly diagnosed 74-year old retired so don't know about the future.
