Mirapexin

I took pramipexole 0.19 and then 0.38 mg from 2021 to 2022, and then Mirapexin ER 0.26 mg in 2023. My initial RLS was mild. I suffered from augmentation after about 6 months under DAs. My DA withdrawal was a total failure. I was put under Neupro 2mg after an abrupt stop of Mirapexin.

I am at my wits end , it is about 6 months now since I finally stopped the Mirapexin so I don't think it is a reaction to that). I am getting 1-2 hours sleep at night.

Have had PD symptoms since January 2022 began Mirapexin in July.After a year symptoms got worse,changed physician who gave bigger dosage of mirapexin and added Madopar1/2x3.

My gp has heard from the hospital about changing my meds from Mirapexin to oxycodone. I am taking Tramadol at the moment to cope with withdrawal from Mirapexin. Gp says I have to wean off Tramadol before I take Oxycodone. Help! How will I manage that. I am taking 3 or 4 100g Tramadol.

Should I re introduce the 1/4 tab until I can get something to take the place of Mirapexin. Or is this a backward step.

I need to come off Mirapexin for the second time and ha ve been managing the withdrawals myself with the help of TramadolI had set such store to this appointment but came away so disappointed.

I have been suffering RLS for years and using mirapexin for treatment but I don't like it. I want to change but can't find a specialist in Ireland to help. Has anyone on this forum from Ireland had any good contacts. Tia

I had colonoscopy and gastroscopy a few years ago when I Augmented on Mirapexin and was also anaemic. I have a hiatus hernia and Diverticulitis. No symptoms. Please advise. I take ferrous bisglycinate on alternate days with effervescent vitamin C on empty stomach.

I finally took my last ever 1/4 tablet of Mirapexin on Saturday after having gone from 6 per day. I am taking Buprenorphine which I guess has helped but it has taken me a really long time to move from 6 to none. I was taking them for over 20 years.

I started staking Mirapexin 5 years ago. It brought great relief but I started to gain weight as in not being able to control what I eat and also impulse buying. My consultant said to come off mirapexin and try gabapentin. So I’m now in 1200 mg of gabapentin and it doesn’t seem to help at all.

For years I took mirapexin till I augmented. I tried Pregabalin but I felt dizzy all the time and I put on a lot of weight quickly. I started tramadol and then alternated between that and mirapexin ( yes I went back on it). I coped like this for a long time. Often with the help of Kratom.

First the dreaded mirapexin and then tramadol nothing is working at the moment. I was on 0.09 mg mirapexin. Now I'm on 50mg tram. Even if I take 100mgs it's not working so I'm obviously augmenting. Even Kratom isn't helping.

I got myself off Mirapexin…nightmare but succeeded. I was recommended Gabapentin but even 100mg absolutely killed my stomach ( I have reflux). Took 4 days of stomach tablets to recover. After a year and 2 months I still have Rls every night.

I did well on mirapexin 0.09mgs for years. Then it made my RLS worse and it moved to my arms . I came off it with the help of tramadol 50mgs. I started alternating mirapexin and tram ,it wasn't perfect but better than nothing, Then I augmented on tram. I was devastated.

And what is the equivalent dose of Mirapexin extended release to a patch of Neupro 2mg ? Thanks!

I started taking pregabalin four years ago to help me come off Mirapexin, which had augmented. I am now taking 575 mg (so 125 mg above the 450 mg maximum prescribed). I take this at about 7 pm.
