HI Chuck, i am not sure if there is a connection but around 2003 I WAS DIAGNOSED with Bipolar Disorder and Depression Later In Life Around The Same Years As My PD ,Having Had A Break Down (Which The Term "nervous breakdown" is no longer used...And Am On Meds That Cover Epileptic Disorders As Well ,Which Goes Along With The Bipolar Medicine..but never experiencing an epileptic occasion. I don't know if this answers your question or leaves you with many more, lol But Good Luck To You My Friend, Any Comments Or ?? Feel Free To Write Back, Thanks Mare

Chuck,I'm not a doctor, but, I can remember I had to give 31 vials of blood in order for the neurologist to be absolutely certain that I did indeed have Parkinson's Disease. I asked why so much blood had to be taken? The reply was that each vial would be tested for diseases that were closely related to PD.They gave me a list of these diseases to read and it didn't mean too much to me at the time, but,,I remembered disease #'s 29 and 30 were ALS, (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and Huntington's Disease. It still didn't set off any bells or whistles until 10 years later when my seemingly healthy-as-a-horse brother was dx'ed with ALS and passed away within a year.I'm sure epilepsy was one of the 31 diseases that closely emmulates Parkinson's. My belief/hope is that if mankind finds a cure for one of these afflictions, they will be able to cure them all!

I have no family history of neurological disorders ,but, what are the chances of 2 brothers,(only 4 years apart in age) coming down with 2 different movement disorders within a 10 year period? I think ALL the diseases we are talking of have a common link!-Rickety PS ...Disease number 32 that had to be elliminated was Lyme's Disease of which I needed to be blood-tested at a hospital. I don't know if this helped you, Chuck,....it's just my theory!

Hi everyone.....I was diagnosed with PD in 2006. I was always healthy as a horse...never sick. One morning I woke up and I could not put my belt on for the shaking. Recently I was also diagnosed with ALS 9-10-10. These two diseases by my doctors opinion are relatively similar. My PD doctor picked it up when I went for a checkup and he noticed my leg movement while I was sitting on the exam table...Then they did a nerve conduction teast and the story goes on

Hi Chuck, I have Parkinson's disease since 1999 aged 44. diagnosed in May 2000. in 2009 I had 2 clots in my lungs which led me to pneumonia.I was in hospital for three weeks, while in hospital,I fell out of bed and for the first time I had a fit, and many more to follow, I was diagnosed with Epilepsy, and I was put on 2 levetiracetam tablets per day. and I feel a lot better. I also wonder if Pd, has anything to connect with other illnesses?/?? bye Danny.

Hi Danny.. This is the exact same situation in which my dad is. He is hospitalised for aspiration pneumonia since 3 weeks and recently had a fall in hospital and now has been diagnosed with Elipsey. I am not sure what really caused it as it was a minor fall. How are you going about the eplipsey thing.. are medication able to control it. Are there any drug interactions between PD and elipsey medication?
