My mother is now experiencing excessive mucus. Does anyone else experience this and have suggestions for eliminating or managing it? Would mucinex be okay to try? We asked her neurologist about it today and he had no helpful suggestions whatsoever.

Suggestions for mucus relief?
Hi My husband is prescribed Bidesonide Aqueous Nasal Spray 100 micrograms/dose 1 spray in each nostril twice a day, this is very successful in drying up his excess secretions that can be very embarrassing and a nuisence, I am suprised your GP/neurologist has no answers, it is quite a common symtom in PD Hope this is of some help for you. Take care of yourselves
A man in my PD exercise class had this and had botox for it. He doesn't recommend it.
Wish I could help - I have the same problem. Go through 10-15 tissues in the morning. Starts almost as soon as I get up, then non-stop until it dries up.
Apparently, PWP do not swallow as often during the day and there is a buildup of mucus which would normally find its way into the stomach.
My consultant and PD Nurse haven't offered any solutions so I will be scanning the responses.for info.
If anyone comes up with an answer PLEASE PLEASE let ius all know ..
This is quite a common condition associated with PD
I was recently refered to the ENT clinic, and have been prescribed Avamys nasal spray,2 sprays into each nostril twice a day.the DR said I will have to continue with the spray permanently,I have found it to be a great benefit.
