This is an old interview, but it shows where he is coming from and also what he goes through in the course of a day.

After viewing the video of Michael J Fox, I was struck with knowledge that Parkinsons is an equal opportunity disease. It can affect the young, old, male, female, rich or poor, famous or obscure. As a rich movie star, Fox knows that as long as we are still looking for a cure, NO ONE is safe from this disease. It is not about politics or point of view..it is about humanity.

Because the symptoms of Parkinsons are so unpleasant, people with Parkinsons tend to isolate themselves and avoid public scrutiny. It takes great courage to stand up and make people aware of what it really looks like and how important it is to find a cure.

If someone like Michael J Fox is willing to hold himself up to ridicule and risk people making fun of his symptoms to further the search for a cure..then those of us who love someone with Parkinsons, those of us who are symptom free and can cry out in a loud voice..should use our voices to join the fight!

I agree I love my husband to bits and wish it was myself who had to suffer the many difficulties he has to endure, I feel it has taken over our lives and thank God my husband does not complain, well only when he has to like being in pain, feeling helpless, depressed etc. we do together try to cry out and try to bring awareness to others about the disease. this we do in our small way by supporting our local PD branch of PD My husband is now again chairman, but this has its downfalls, very exhausting. but we have met some lovely people gained many different experiences of how the disease affects people so many ways too mention. Life is too short to waste being negative, but we must make a difference and ensure that this disease is worth looking at and try to relieve, cure whatever. Power to the PD suffers . Sorry went on a bit but we all I am sure passionate about the subject. Great to air our views thanks for the inspiration. Take care
