It gives a very good overview of all aspects of a good PD diet with Brain food! A lot of readable information, partly as a reminder but certainly also with the latest insights. Thank you!

There is some good advice here but also some damaging advice. For example, they recommend animal dairy, yet these foods have been shown to increase the risk of PD (and other disorders). They say to avoid eggs, yet eggs are almost perfect protein for the amino acids to make more dopamine.

Don't take this publication as "gospel" but use it to compare with other recommendations from people who have actually recovered from Parkinson's.

I agree. Their idea of healthy and unhealthy fats is questionable and instead of their sugestion just to imit sugar and refined carbohydrate, I would suggest minimising them and limiting complex carbohydrate. youtu.be/reXD2msNkXI?si=gF6...

Yes, many. I recovered in 1998 from stage 4 Parkinson's - you can get the full story here - amazon.com.au/SHAKY-PAST-Jo....

Other people include 'Lionel' who recovered from stage 4.5 PD after 6 years of dedication, Harold from stage 2 after 2 years, Tom from stage 2 after 2 years, Margaret from stage 1.5 after a year, Fran from stage 3 after 4 years, and many more.

You can find some stories in this book - rethinkingparkinsons.com/

crewmanwhite . I read the excerpt from your book and I will buy it because it is still well written. Here is the link : read.amazon.com.au/sample/B...

However I am not giving your experience an endorsement yet. 😎 I can only hope that you have offered proof of some kind or at least anecdotal attestations like John Pepper has done ( in the book by another author). Anyways, books like yours at least broadcast to the world, the broad spectrum of the Parkinson's Patient's experiences.

Just a friendly word of advice. You may wish to make it more clear that you wrote a book about your experiences and how you feel that you have overcome your condition, disorder or disease and it is for sale There's no shyness in that. Thete are other authors in the forum who have developed a following. I am sure that there are other patients and or their caregivers who might want to read your book, especially if it is well written like yous appears to be.

Good luck with everything.

Hi. Thank you for your comments.

My books and experiences have been widely broadcast and promoted over the past 25 years. I have presented at conferences, conducted practitioner training curses in Australia, USA, UK, Germany and Austria, and been interviewed on numerous podcasts and a few TV programs.

As you read my book, you will find many references from western science as well as "natural medicine" sources and stories of real people.

I will continue to promote my books as reference material for both patients, caregivers and practitioners as I am now aging (80+) and would like to slow down a little. However, I will continue to write and see people until I can't :)

Cheers, John Coleman ND - returntostillness.com.au/in...

Prakash1 . Unfortunately the only answer is most probably no one. It is definitely a hopeful thing to wish for, but highly unlikely to happen, Even into the future.

But, hope is not lost in the search for living healthier and more productively with Parkinson's. Perhaps we can even delay disease progression significantly. Don't expect miracles to happen because research and development is tied to profit making and money. However, as a powerfully motivated Parkinson's community with the help of our shared lived experiences we can and will make our own lives and those who share the struggle with us significantly better.

I'm becoming convinced that the diet is only a part of recovery if one eats what they BELIEVE is truly healthy for them. With so much hype and sales pitch out there that is completely conflicting, it's near impossible to follow anymore unless you spend your days researching. Disclaimer: I have been an ethical vegan for over 13 years. I know when I eat too much greasy or deep fried, or when I have had too many "healthy" chips. I know when I have had too much sugar... and yet I eat what I want. Diet is a very hard nut to crack imho. But some things make too much sense once you see them in context. For example

Dairy is a very specific food made for a very specific purpose. Think about that. It is meant to help a baby cow gain 50-100 pounds per month. And only until that cow is grown. You don't see adult cows drinking milk, right? Some things are common sense but not all. I mean I had not considered what an egg actually was until I went vegan. And most of us really don't think about it. I believe these were the types of things our ancestors ate mostly out of desperation.

If you know when you have had too much sugar doesn't that indicate that it is harmful and that it is doing damage even if you don't notice that you have had too much?
