I'm curious to find out if anyone with Parkinson's has supplemented with Taurine? If so, can you share your experience, good and bad, and the amount you take and the brand. Thank you
Has anyone supplemented with taurine? - Cure Parkinson's
Has anyone supplemented with taurine?
No. But I am very interested to find out, if you try it, what you find.
My husband was taking 1000 mg taurine 3x a day- for atrial fibrillation. It did not avert an ablation which cured it. However, during the time he was taking it his PD did not pose a problem either. So it’s hard to draw a conclusion.
Taurine has been touted as the longevity pill.
He is currently taking 1000 mg at night
I take 500mg Swanson brand taurine at bedtime. I no longer have nighttime leg cramps. I know it helps because when I ran out and didn't take it after 3 or 4 days I started having the leg cramps again. I think it also helps with the stiffness upon standing although I still get this at times. I am going to start taking 500 mg in morning and night. Not sure what other benefits I may get from it.
I take it. Not noticed any effect, but I don't really take it for PD, I take it more because it's SUPPOSED to be good for the nebulous concept called "healthy aging". I wouldn't call it a magic bullet.

And it doesn't taste bad and it's easy to mix into coffee.
