Neuro Protection

Neuro protection? My husband and I are working on creating a list of all that we can research that can potentially help with neuro protection. We are absolutely clear that there is no magic solution, nothing resembling a cure but nonetheless a consolidated list of potentially neuro protective possibilities would be very valuable to us and I believe other readers as well. Please contribute whatever you think, believe, know or do that is of help not with addressing symptoms but with protection. I have not found previous threads on this although they must exist.

Examples we presently are researching are:

Nicotine, hyperbaric chambers, intermittent fasting, red light technology, supplements like L-Taurine , etc

Thank you

Melatonin would be a worthy candidate for your list and it seems to treat Covid-19, CVD, COPD, strokes and more.

I did not put the melatonin/COPD post on this forum for lack of interest.

I did not realize it is an antioxidant and all it’s benefits. I was trying to wean myself off it as a sleep aid. Amazing. Thank you Art!

Why recreate the wheel.

Here is an exhaustive list with reference by sunvox . He does not have Parkinson’s but he has a genetically influenced movement disorder. He posted quite a lot on the Parkinson forum

Here is another master silvestrov with his list of daily supplements

These two links along with other threads initiated by these two gentlemen can quickly get you to your goal of building a solid therapeutic PD program.

Best wishes🌺

Super! Thank you! No desire to reinvent the wheel here, I just could not find other lists.

Amantadine for neuro protection? I have read that Amantadine is believed to slow progression but I have also read the opposite.

The best way to protect neurons is to reactivate their own Antioxidant Response Elements, ARE.These slow down as we get older due to reduced Nrf2.

Thank you. I have forward the article to my husband who will better comprehend it than I. The work done by these PWP in what you sent is very impressive. I hope more like them will embrace such a proactive approach as I believe that is the way we are going to find means of help. Pharma will find something at some point but even then it will not be the magic pill.
