I can't believe you only got 1 answer. I can say yes, yes, and yes. I was taking Requip and it caused a lot of the problem. I know there are more people out there..speak up!!

I am not sure about this one, as it relates to me anyway. I have a been a photographer most of my adult life and have always sought it out, particularly when feelig down as a way of self expression....kind of a therapy.

Since being diagnosed I have really poured a lot of myself into my photography. Is it a coping mechanism, a kind of self therapy? Do I seek it out for fear one day I might have to give it up? Is is a compulsion? I don't know the answer yet and imagine only time will tell. All I know is, for now at least, photography is my only outlet in dealing with the feelings I go through in dealing with my PD and life in general....and for now I NEED it.

NOt really but I know at least one PWP who is definitely art-compulsive and he thinks its the Mirapex.

I don't consider art to be a compulsion with PD. I am an internatinally known impressionistic painter. i am finding that with PD, I can be expressive, and positive, and am painting more then i have ever done, prehaps that couldl be considered by some to be compulsive, but I do not. Besides It is a way of fighting it, and the expression is keeping me mentally strong and the working of my hands, keeps some agility, although am wearing a brace sometimes. My doctor said my work will become more abstract and start painting like Jackson Pollack... my replay was "BRING IT ON!!" artistic expression with PD is VERY important, as it works as a therapy...and keeps one with a sense of still being constructive, worthy, and able to give back to society. Even if it means working the brushes eventually with either teeth or feet. One with the gift..never give up!! Music and story telling will also help.....keep the demons of dementia away as well. if you can, try what is called PAINT DANCING.. I teach it...people do this for food banks support...we can do this for PD support.

I've found that PD has robbed me of some of my expressive abilities. I've been a closet writer/poet all my life, but in the last year i've had trouble finding the write words to express myself. i've taken up guitar, and an artist friend is going to let me use their studio next month and teach me technique. I excited. But ot answer your question, no i'm not compulsive...Artistically at least...

Hi there. Jomc and friends YES, there is a website for PAINT DANCING

PAINT DANCING.COM. Take a look at it, and also watch the videos. I think PWP can tweek it abit to fit according to the needs, as it involves movement, BUT we can do it!! A friend of mine, Matt Jones is an abstract painter in Seattle and was goofing off in his studio one day, and came up with the idea. PAINT DANCING is now all over the country, and in Canada and one in the UK. The project can used for different charity events as well as food banks. I am the National Expansion Leader for Paint Dancing and anyone that would want to do this, let me know ok. I really think it will be a great way of expressing, and help us, as well as we can also help raisie money in research by doing this as well. What say you guys? ;) Blessings
