NAC the ultimate NO Brainer.

If there was one supplement, I would recommend for Parkinsons, it’s NAC. I get some of it through Restore Gold 1.6 grams and 1200 mg before bed for a total of 2.8 g. For me if I go any higher, it can cause me to be slightly anemic. I’ve been diagnosed for nearly 6 years and I’ve been off it twice. Both times I could feel myself progressing.

Also look into the carnivore diet. I’ve been able to quit my SSRI, which was causing my symptoms to be worse. I may be eating this way the rest of my life. I eat only one meal a day, so the protein doesn’t interfere with my medication.

Regarding that dosage of 2.8 g - did less not work for you or have you always taken that much?

I was at 4 grams but it made me slightly anemic. Most of the time it was 1.6 grams in the restore gold. Only about 8 months on higher dose

What was the reason for increasing the dose? Any specific reason for 2.8 grams?

Mainly because of the psychological benefits. It’s been studied at 2400-3000 mg. I am extremely OCD. It’s help me a lot with anxiety, OCD and some with depression. Side effect is is that it fights Parkinson’s

Is FDA doing anything with NAC these days, I see conflicting things that I don't know whether to credit. Is there some controversy or just noise?

The FDA got sued when they came out saying they were going to ban NAC as a supplement. It makes me mad because the safety profile of NAC is great. Why do this other than nefarious reasons?

Maybe RFK can have a chat with them once he's their boss.

I had to go off of NAC because of severe heartburn. Anyone have a brand recommendation?

I know it might mess with the effectiveness, but taking it with food might help the heartburn. Also make sure I drink it with a big glass of water.

3. NAC and Glycine and L-Glutamine

Also please share your recommended doses and the reason for the doses?
