Has anyone tried Hyperbaric oxygen therapy? Would you recommend it?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy : Has anyone... - Cure Parkinson's
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
seriously considering it and the functional neurologist I saw last year was convinced it helps with pd symptoms
I used it and it helped me by improving my energy. I had a friend who owned it and I spent one hour each morning and one hour before bed
lucky guy ... why did you stop?
Two hours each day was a lot and we needed to work on selling our small farm in order to downsize and reduce my stress (considering this illness I know I shouldn’t trivialize any remedy that appears to be working) and I have/am trying other activities. Right now it is exercise, exercise and more exercise. That is working for me and living in CO I would rather enjoy the sunshine for two hours a day than sit in a chamber.
Hi. Yes we tried HBOT for several weeks(4 consecutive weeks), and at 4 sessions per week, each session was about 1-2 hours long, depending on how long my loved one was able to lay in the chamber in any particular week. We were told that the therapy needs to be done multiple times a week in order for it to have an effect.
It is a bit of a time commitment but I do think it helped with energy levels. His primary symptom is a tremor in hand. I don’t think it helped much with that but helped somewhat with the energy in the evening. I don’t think it was a cure-all by any stretch like some websites claim ( tremors disappearing etc). Maybe it helps some people like this, but for us, it felt more like one more tool added along side B vitamins, supplements, probiotic PS 128, exercising, eating well, and sleeping well.
We have given it a break in the summer but want to resume in the fall with a stretch of sessions. I also wanted to add that we are not on any PD meds and early in this process like you. Wish you good luck and continued healing.
