I was diagnosed 2 years back and have been 0n Sifrol 2/2/2 daily. in the past 120 days, I experienced lack o balance, shuffling of feet and some freezing. My neuro asked me to keep sifrol as is and start taking Sinemet 100 / 25: 3 tablets per day. I have been on Sinemet for 2 months now.
Unfortunately the morning tablet doesn't work: I take it at 7:30 am morning and my last food intake is 8:30 pm the pervious eve. I suffer from the symptoms all morning. My sleeping pattern is acceptable with help form 1 tablet each of "Remeron & Valerian".
The tablets at lunch (12:45 pm) & evening (5:45pm) do work and I get noticeable relief.
My query please: what is happening with the morning tablet and what can I do to ensure that is is absorbed properly?
Many thanks for your help

Hi Michele, I have found that if I eat protein or any food high in potassium such as bananas or mushrooms, it cancels out my Sinemet. I would wait at least an hour~90 minutes before eating these foods. I just stick to coffee, toast, veggies for the interim
If you are also taking a multivitamin or B complex that contains vitamin B6 within a couple of hours of taking your Sinemet that will inactivate it. See here for details: healthunlocked.com/cure-par...
