I have been taking Sinemet in a very low dosage of 6/25-25 for the last 2 months for the first time to help my dystonia but it didn’t work much so I am tapering it off to stop taking it completely in the next few days. Please share your thoughts about stopping Sinemet here.

Tapering Sinemet
Might YOUR dystonia be unrelated to PD? Perhaps a nutrient deficiency?
Please can you elaborate. I think the same. When I take magnesium I feel much better.
Human gene variants (alleles) related to magnesium pathways have been found. Other pathways linked to magnesium might be etiologically and biologically significant to your dystonia. SPECTRACELL'S MICRONUTRIENT TESTING might be helpful (might not be).
When I had a sudden improvement I simply dropped two thirds of my levodopa dosage without adverse consequence. Actually I dropped it completely but then discovered taking some was still helpful.
Edit: Dropping levodopa completely all at once is not a good idea. Best to taper over time.
Could you tell us what did you do that gave you sudden improvement please? And how do you drop two thirds of the levodopa?
And how to drop it completely please? Thanks

Thanks. Are you still on only one tablet of 50/200?
How long did you do 3 hours qigong per day?
Was it only lachi?
How many hours do you do it now?
And which type?
Please give me answer to each question if you don't mind. I have practiced wisdom qigong a period of time, but maybe not right because I didn't get results like yours but still get worse.
I appreciate your help & time. Thanks
My son when DX with P.D. suffered painful dystonia of the neck. He took the Spectracell micronutrient test in 2014, followed the suggestions where he was low . He took it again in 2016....he was borderline in Gluthione (44...reference range was >42%), Cysteine, Spectrox and Immunidex. Again by very little.
He tried BOTOX, helped little and Acupuncture twice a week for 6 months. It helped more than the Botox.
Good luck
Thank you for this. Would you recommend the SpectraCell micronutrient Test?Did the test help in finding the cause of dystonia at all (interms of micronutrients deficiency)?
I developed dyskinesia after 4 months on 3 x 25/100 Sinemet (generic c/l) daily. At 6 months I decided to taper off. I took a month to titrate and just got worse and worse. Prior to starting c/l I was slow but functional. Within 3 months off, I was struggling to do anything and had horrible dystonia in my left foot. By six months I could barely dress myself or brush my teeth. After 10 months off, I started on it again and recovered much of my functionality. Dyskinesia came back strongly after about six months, but it is preferable to being 80% debilitated.
