Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to post this link regarding an exciting trial running in my stomping grounds. It is a trial being run by Aspen Neuroscience of Autologous Neuronal Cell Replacement Therapy for Parkinson's Disease. They dosed their first patient in Tucson, AZ today (April 17, 2024).

Link to study on clinicaltrials.gov:

They are doing a 1-year safety and efficacy follow-up (primary outcome) and a long-term safety and efficacy follow-up through 5 years (secondary outcome) and a safety follow-up of up to 14 years out from the cell replacement therapy.

I am SO BUMMED that I just missed being eligible for this study by a hair - I am on hydroxychloroquine for inflammatory arthritis and the sponsor (Aspen Neuroscience) considered it to be an immunosuppressant.

However - I hope this therapy works - the secondary study completion date is 6 years out (April 2030) but if they get very positive results at the end of year 1 (primary outcome date) they may be able to speed things up a bit and that may translate to hope for some of us to benefit.

14 years

Are they joking?

Their study result will be out when we are dead

It is heart breaking that nobody cares

If it works, it may be approved before the 14-year safety follow-up is complete but still best-case scenario for this therapy is 7 years out...........
