You got plasmalogen? Any one likes scallops? It is a lengthy article, but our HU scientists will give us their opinion.

I have to find the supplement now!

6 Conclusions

Ether phospholipids, including plasmalogens, have different biological functions ascribable to their biophysical properties. For instance, plasmalogens can modulate membrane trafficking, cell signaling, transporter functions, oxidative status, and storage of PUFA eventually affecting cognitive functions and behavior. Therefore, plasmalogen deficiency and phospholipid composition in the organs can be the causal factors to the onset of neurodegenerative, developmental, and psychiatric disorders. As a result, plasmalogen replacement therapies have attempted to improve those disorders. However, although orally administering extracted plasmalogens and synthetic analogs replenish circulating and organ-specific plasmalogens, the brain’s plasmalogen content was not restored. Thus, novel strategies to restore the brain’s phospholipid composition are warranted to alleviate neurodegenerative, developmental, and psychiatric disorders.

My husband started taking Plasmalogen at the advice of one of his docs a few short months ago. Is the the supplement you are looking for?

Yes, thanks. I found it on Amazon. May I ask what is the brand name of the one your husband's taking? Possible beneficial results after 6 months on the supplement according to the trial.

PS. Did a medical doctor recommend it?

This is what I have found. Haven't purchase it yet. Hubby takes krill oil, once he is done with that, he will most likely start Plasmogen.

Prodrome Sciences is the brand. (Prodrome.com) They do sell more than one Plasmalogens. The naturopath doctor told my husband to get the Neuro Plasmalogens. This brand IS more expensive BUT the naturopath trusts this brand. He said to take with food and if it is going to help it could help fast, like within a month. Said it can generate glial cells in the brain. Said when Plasmalogen levels go down the synapses in the brain don't work, or at least not as well. Ask me if you would like to know more about his advice for the dosing details.

Thank you! I opened the link. Interesting. . . Yes, I would like to know what your naturopath doctor's advice is. If I purchase it, I would buy the softgels--E X P E N S I V E!! If they deliver results though, it is worth it. Has your husband experienced any positive results?
