As FYI (or FWIW) I believe Dr. Paul Larsen of the Arizona VA has been one of the most active neurosurgeons in the USA in this field. He moved back to AZ, his home state, only in the last few years. Previously for many years he was at UCSF where he developed asleep DBS surgical techniques. and was active in brain cell transplants.
