Macuna Pruriens capsules

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has experience of using these capsules, 700mg macuna pruriens.

Currently I take 1 +1/2 Sinemet 3 x daily but I find it doesn’t completely stop my tremor (left hand and leg/foot). I’m only recently diagnosed and feel I’m already dependent on Sinemet.

I gather it can be hard to get the right mount of macuna when in powder form, could it be easier to use these capsules?

I've found Mucuna capsules or powder to be totally useless and maybe dangerous. The dosage is not third party certified and unpredictable. The quality is suspect just look at the reports of heavy metals etc in herbal preparations such as turmeric, cinnamon and roisbois tea. Also Mucuna bean is a lectin so preparation is crucial. I've not found one that specified their procedure. And unlike pharmacy grade medication their is no monograph or leaflet to outline all the procedures and effects. Should you encounter a problem you have very little to no recourse. Taking Mucuna complicates every thing from your doctor's prescription perspective. I've given up trying to deal with it.

Tex1, can you share the brand he uses & his dosing / schedule, please?

Hi. I take indigo herbs, organic Muna powder, natural strength. It works fine for me as a fairly low-dose mix one 1.5 to 2 g with a little lemon juice and let it soak for awhile. Then I add some green tea and drink. This is a substitute for the 50 mg sinemet I was taking and sometimes still do.

Obviously everyone is different and dosage will vary. And take some calibrating when you get a new bag of the stuff that said if it is a large bag it will last a long time and be the same strength.

"The average daily intake amongst our customers is 14 capsules per day." That is a lot of Mucuna! Barlowe's 40% is what my husband takes with the addition of carbidopa and it works for him at least 4-5 hours.
