GYLNAC

I have to confess. I recently posted about my success with Nicotine patches. I just found this important on Glynac. Short for glycine and NAC. I’ve taken restore, gold pretty much since diagnosed. I don’t sell the stuff, but I am believer in its ingredients. NAC is the primary ingredient.

About the same time as starting the nicotine patches, I started supplementing glycine on protocol to fix my MTHFR pathway. I was already taking restore, gold which had NAC. I started to feel amazing. Seriously. I don’t know if it’s the combination of the two or one or the other. Watching this video I’m more convinced that it’s probably the GylNAC.

Long story short. After the age of 45 glutathione levels plummet. I don’t know the exact specifics, but by the age of 60, compared to a 20-year-old, you have about a third as much glutathione. Parkinsons patients know how important glutathione is. The amazing part of the study is that after 16 weeks, of supplementing Glynac, 60-year-old levels of glutathione was almost the same as the younger group. That’s amazing.

The problem with supplement glutathione we now know more about the body. There is a balance. The old way of thinking, you could never have enough anti oxidants. That is not correct. The lipsomal glutathione Inject itself into the cell. The problem is balance. Parts of your body different parts of glutathione. Glynac basically provides all the ingredients which your body needs to make glutathione so the body can regulate its production.

Seriously everyone who has Parkinson’s needs to try this. I take a dose four times a day, it seems to do before bed has completely made me sleep, so wonderfully. This video explain it perfectly.

i’ve been whittling down my supplements, I just don’t think now that it’s good to over supplement everything. I think I was doing lots of times more harm than good. However by accident, I basically now know that I was doing this study by by taking Restore Gold, Glynac and Tru-Niagen.

Hope this can help somebody feel better!

Is this a capsule? How much glycine per capsule or pill? How much NAC per capsule or pill? So if I am understanding this correctly you are taking 4 capsules or pills per day?

38yroldmale profile image
38yroldmale in reply toBoscoejean

I take it as part of restore gold. I take 600 mg NAC 4 times a day. 3 from RG and 1 from a NAC 600mg supplement. I may go up another 600 mg NAC . Glycine least 8 grams, be careful, it can cause sleepiness. I use 1/2 and 1/2 glycine capsules and powder

Boscoejean profile image
Boscoejean in reply to38yroldmale

so 8000 mg of glycine? This is more than I expected. I did see some glynac supplements that had 1000 mg glycine and 600 mg of NAC per capsule so that was why I was wondering because that seemed like a high dose

38yroldmale profile image
38yroldmale in reply toBoscoejean

The dose I use of glycine is to fix my severe form of MTHFR. The study dose were this high of gylcine and higher of Nac

So glad to hear of your improvements. How long have you been feeling better? What exactly do you mean by "completely made me sleep"? And how long/consistently have you been sleeping? Sleeping is a really big problem for my husband. I shall try to watch the video and then see if I have more of an understanding.

Completely fixed my sleep. I’ve been using it for the last 3 weeks. Also, I do sauna most nights.

Redginger profile image
Redginger in reply to38yroldmale

Was the sleep fixed quite rapidly, or did it take some time? From where do you get Restore Gold?

38yroldmale profile image
38yroldmale

wehaveparkinsons.com

It was pretty rapid but I also started nicotine patches at the same time. I take the patch off while I sleep, it wakes me up if I forget and leave it on.

Hubby has been on NAC for a year. Nothing, and I mean nothing has worked like n i c o t i n e gum. He has been on Azilect, Neu Pro patch, Lev/Carb with Entacapone, Modafinil, Concerta, Caffeine Pills and of course anti depressants and ativan which do wonders for daytime sleepiness....Side effects almost ended our ability to live together as a family. Including aggression, compulsive behaviour, debilitating sleepiness, brain fog, etc. Missed ten years of life basically. Couldn't attend weddings, funerals, school plays, you name it. Then he went to the drug store and picked up a pack gum....I guess we do our own study before the ban.

Which glycine do you take? Are there any potency or purity or variations to look for?

Been thinking about GlyNAC for a few months. Maybe time to add.

GlyNac seems worth trying onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi... and academic.oup.com/view-large... . In this study, Rajagopal V. Sekhar reports the amounts ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... :100 mg/kg/day of glycine, and 100 mg/kg/day of NAC.

JayPwP profile image
JayPwP in reply toPeter-Jan

These seem to be extremely high doses.

thanks! I’m very interested but the link is not working. Also I see that that there is now something called Glynac-et? Also are Glynac and Restore the same thing?

38yroldmale profile image
38yroldmale in reply toGallowglass

GylNAC is just short for gylcine and NAC. I’m sure a supplement company probably put the two of them together because it’s such a powerful combination. Restore Gold is a Parkinson’s specific supplement that contains NAC.

38yroldmale profile image

taking glycine at high doses, can make you very tired, so be aware. I spread it out through the day. You might be effective at 1-3 g. There is an MTHFR protocol that requires a higher dose that I’m going through that compensates for severe form.

I’m no expert by any means. The study that was talked about in the video was 100 mg of both NAC and glycine per kilogram of weight. That’s a massive dose. I think if you were going to take it every day, that might be wasteful. Not harmful but wasteful. They had a 16 week study.

So I’m curious why glycine and why not take glutathione directly?

( hubby tried glutathione and it triggered his hallucinations, which makes me think it does something to increase dopamine.)

Edit: I see, he addresses this in the video. He says excess glutathione can overload the cell and cause reductive stress.

38yroldmale in reply toLeharLover62

It’s better for your body to have all the ingredients to make it rather than force it into the cell

Dear All,

If anyone is on Glycine+NAC powder, please let me know how to take it? Is it ok to mix it 1:1 and add to a shaker with water and sip? Or is it to be added to a glass of water and gulped down?

Also how to titrate up to 100mg/kg/d? The research paper does not list any titration method.

38yroldmale profile image
38yroldmale

hey, I dropped by to be careful with glycine. Titration is best. I overdosed on glycine. I can’t tolerate the full stomach study dose

JayPwP profile image
JayPwP in reply to38yroldmale

Welcome back. How are you doing?

How to identify overdose symptoms?

I am currently taking TMG 1000mg with NAC 1200mg.

Planning to increase to TMG 1000mg + Glycine 1000mg + NAC 1800mg. This should give me 1800mg of Glycine and NAC each.

Also starting the probiotic regime as mentioned here

I did a much higher dose. That sounds like a good plan. I’ve actually doing pretty well. I’m smelling things I haven’t smelled in years. I’m gonna go back on glycine as soon as my overdose symptoms, subside. Overdose symptoms were worse pd, really out of it. Like I was living in haze

I have increased to TMG 1000mg + Glycine 1000mg + NAC 1800mg. This should give me 1800mg of Glycine and NAC each.

Just took the entire dose together, now I am worried about overdosing.

When we supplement Glycine and NAC, does it create a deficiency of Glutamic acid? Do we need to supplement that as well?

38yroldmale profile image
38yroldmale

no, I believe my form may be caused or partially caused my excitotoxicity. I find the supplements that combat this also combat PD. At least for me.

glycine is OK, just be careful of the amount. They can quickly become too much. Just be aware. Everyone’s different.
