From Dr. Marc Gallay:

Dear Patients and Families, I can now practice open communication about the future. We are in discussion with several institutions in Switzerland to set up a follow-up to Sonimodul, maintaining the quality of care while continuing to improve. As I said earlier, the "easy" solution with the University of Berne will only work if we remain independent (they can't afford the ExAblate but would like to collaborate with us). Another Swiss university has contacted me, but I don't yet have a concrete proposal. On the private side, there are several possibilities that will take a few months to materialize. I think that realistically, consultations could resume in May and treatments in the summer. There is a private opportunity that could go faster, but it has yet to be confirmed. I promise to let you know instantly, as soon as we have more to communicate. If anyone would like to come and see us in Switzerland before May for a consultation, please write to us privately and we'll make the arrangements (whether at Dr. Magara's practice in Berne or elsewhere where I have my entrances). Be well! Marc

Eric

Focused ultrasound

It is focused ultrasound known as PTT-FUS. It targets a different area of the brain than the procedure which is FDA approved in the US.

you don’t have to go to Switzerland. In US: umms.org/ummc/news/2022/foc...

we have many centers in USA. Is his different? See Insightec company. Only treats tremor. They have many videos on people that had essential tremor that they treated. I heard they were moving into Parkinson’s. I personally had a friend who did it here in Colorado for essential tremor. The results were amazing. Non-invasive. But they have to shave your head.

Could you tell me where in Colorado? We have not found a good dr in Colorado.

PTT is only done in switzerland but is in trials in the US. It is different than thalmotomy done for tremor. Focused ultrasound is a machine to do surgery with but it is used for different surgeries (three different ones for PD).

thank you. what does PTT stand for? how is it different?

Pallidothalamic tractotomy. It treats tremor, dystonia, dyskinesia, rigidity and slowness and can be done on both sides of the brain usually with a year apart. It is also safer overall.
