Does anyone know what kind of treatment Ozzie Osborne is getting in Switzerland that he can't get in the U.S?

I don't know for sure but this is what I'm guessing. It's also performed in US, but surgeons in Switzerland have been doing the procedure longer.

Sorry, there was a lot more there when I hit reply? I was saying the Focused Ultrasound (FUS), Trixiedee is saying that is not it .

I wonder if it is a form of Focused Ultrasound through the SoniModul Clinic.

He’s having some kind of immune system therapy. It’s not FUS as the treatment takes several weeks.

Thank God. Now I don't have to stress over running into him at SoniModul next month and have to break it to him that I don't want his autograph. :)

Hello Anderson

So you're having FUS next month, sorry if you've mentioned it somewhere already (I have the head for loosing track of things)... did they approve your having the procedure despite that you respond positively to C/L? Or do you?

What other criteria did they use?

Personally I would prefer they just put you on the queue for the procedure once you have PD and you have the money... but hey anything with PD always comes with its own complexities

Many thanks

Grumpy,

They can't put everybody in a queue because not everybody has the physical characteristics that allow it to work, such as thickness of skull, etc. They do a thorough evaluation which includes a CT and MRI scan, blood panel, heart test, psychological evaluation, etc.

I am expecting to qualify because I already qualified for a pallidotomy this past July, but got randomized to the sham procedure. One of the editors of Dr. J's recent paper was the one who did the procedure on me in Columbus Ohio, so they know each other and Dr. J has all the data/scans collected in Columbus.

I am mostly unresponsive to C/L. It does nothing for me 75% of the time, even 300 mg to 400 mg at a time.

Stem cell is still a wild-west industry at this point.

i am guessing focussed ultrasound. Its the only center doing it bilaterally so far.

It's not FUS because it is immune injections of some kind
