I am tremor dominant and was diagnosed in 2015. symptoms before tremor both sides, insomnia, dyskinesia on left side couldn't walk a half mile with my left foot dragging a little which made me exhausted and excessively sweat after the walk. I was also a little unbalanced walking.

also had slight swallowing problem

NOW

Insomnia gone

left hand tremor 90% improved

dyskinesia gone

imbalance while walking gone.

i can now walk a mile no problem.

That’s great! Are you still on meds for PD? Where was your surgery? 🥊

still taking meds for right side tremor but the results (still good) that i stated above was a HUGE PLUS on Quality of life. I am planning on having it done on the other side in May 2024.

I t was at NY Presbyterian.

The surgeon Dr. Gordon Baltuch was great. see his experience on this link below.

PS the surgery was very easy went home same day.

MY neuro doc was always telling me that i was a perfect candidate for DBS but the intensive surgery and maintenance was not something i wanted. My understanding is i could do DBS after ultrasound but basically caannot do ultrasound after DBS because of the wires inplanted from DBS.

If u are tremor dominant and meds are becoming less effective i would strongly encourage.
