Need advice! I’ve had PD for a little over 4 years. I started HDT before with success but did many other things so I never gave it a full chance. Started at 2 grams for about 5 days. Too much pretty quickly. Took a week off and did 1 gram for now a week. I feel a tad jittery, can’t sleep, slightly worsen of symptoms? Wondering if I should give it a couple more days or stop and see how I feel? I feel like I should stop but want to give this it’s proper time and not overthink it.
HDT overdose.: Need advice! I’ve had PD for... - Cure Parkinson's
HDT overdose.
I started slowly and increased bit by bit. I seem to be ok at 1.500 mg but ive been taking for 2 years + now. Had to stop start many times to figure out what was working.
lower the dose
definitely lower your dose and gradually try to go up. My husband was taking 1000mg for quite awhile then he gradually increased. He always takes the two doses before 1:00 in the afternoon. It has taken him almost 3 years to get to the 3000mg.
As a caregiver (and chief researcher)a few things from my wife's experience so far with HDT: 1) As others have said lower the dose. It could be WAY less. 2) Make sure you are using the the HCL verion of B1 and not the mononittrate version. While not harful, it absormbs differently and can accumulate. 3) Consider the sublingual version that is more consistent and needs far less (maybe 100mg 3 days per week - Read the suthors discussion on this versus my recall!)
I uses HDT for more than a year at a high dose, and then developed hip pain. It took me a while to figure out it was the b1.
I tried repeatedly at lower doses, hip pain came back every time.
Even at 100 sublingual, alternating days. Now trying 50mg sublingual, three times per week.
With b1, less can be more. Hoping it will work for me!
Hi: HDT is a therapy that is different for everyone. Myu recommendation is two things: first get the book, PARKINSONS AND THE B1 THERAPY, by Daphne Bryan. It spells out the process very clearly. Second, also join her facebook group, Parkinson's B1 Therapy; as supportive as the folks on this group are, that group is focused primarily on making HDT work for everyone. I am still working thru finding my "sweet spot". Good luck.
you need to do more research. Join fb group Parkinson’s b1 therapy and read Daphne Bryan’s book of the same name from Amazon. Once you hit your sweet spot dose the results are amazing. Good luck
