Somebody told me they were taking NAD+. I was surprised you could even by NAD+. I thought everybody took NAD precursors (NA, NR) but I see Amazon sells NAD+ amazon.com/Liposomal-Supple...
All the medical papers I see say to boost NAD+ to take precursors. I take Nicotinic Acid.
The Amazon product says you are skipping the precursor and adding the NAD+ directly. I wonder if it survives digestion?

Ah, I found this: What’s the Deal with Oral NAD+ and NAD+ Precursors? A Bioavailability Report medium.com/@nadovim/whats-t...
"Historical Research on NAD+ and NAD+ Precursors
In the world of oral NAD+ supplementation, the market is currently dominated by companies selling 4 forms of NAD+: 1-Nicotinamide (Nam), 2-Nicotinamide riboside (NR), 3-Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and 4-Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+). NAD+ is the key end goal molecule that produces the beneficial biological effects desired in the body. All 4 molecules are related as they represent larger and larger building blocks of the ultimate NAD+ molecule. Nam being the smallest building block, is converted into NMN by the critical enzyme NAMPT (Nicotinamide Phosphoribosyltransferase) with the addition of a phosphate group. NMN is then converted into NAD+ by the enzyme NMNAT (Nicotinamide mononucleotide adenylyltransferase) with the addition of another phosphate group, an additional ribose group and an adenosine group [2]. Intracellular NR can feed into NMN production but taken as an oral supplement still needs to be broken down into Nam."
I usually stay clear of this topic because I'm trying something relatively new and somewhat experimental to increase my NAD+. So far, I'm experiencing some benefits, but it's always hard to separate out the benefits from my other supplements, so I can't be 100% sure I'm onto something yet. Thus my hesitation to share this. I'd like other opinions as to whether this different approach makes sense to you:
Hello JAS9 ~ Please report back on your results with taking NACHIDO. I do not have PD, but am the care person of my husband with PD.
I’ve had my hwp on TruNiagen for about 11 months now (most of the time 900 mg/day). I was only trying to improve his brain funcwhich it has tremendously!! But it doesn’t seem to do anything for motor symptoms.
We’re still trying to get his tremor/anxiety under control. I’ve had him on Restore Gold for about 2 ½ months and we had to stop for 9 days due to a tooth extraction. We just started back up again. When we stopped his tremor/anxiety ramped back up within a few days.
Now I am wondering if NACHIDO would be a better option for him if it can help both brain and motor symptoms instead of TruNiagen so I am interested in your results and thoughts.
Thank you for your time and have a fabulous day!!
PS ~ I did take NACHIDO last year myself. Maybe I should get back on it.
