Hello All,
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's almost ten years ago at age of 50, I had been having many health problems 3 years prior, and they attributed all of my issues to a spinal injury that I had many years earlier. I was missed diagnosed, I had Parkinson's. I started out using no Medications, but I pursed iv therapy high doses of vitamins and other supplements, which seemed to help for about 6 months (Very expensive) then no benefit. I then changed my diet, no gluten no diary and no pork and I tried to eliminate sugar as much as possible. I did overall health wise feel substantially better, but the Parkinson's just continued to roll on getting worse. The one thing that I had going for myself was I exercised 5 to 6 days a week an intense level, mostly body weight movements. The exercise was the one powerful tool that kept me stronger and was slowing the progression some (more than anything else) So I don't bore you all with too many details, I had DBS surgery Feb 2022, the first 3 months after surgery was very difficult trying to find the right new medication dosage as well as the right electrical current setting. But once this was achieved wow it has really improved my quality of life...I am very thankful, it is not a cure and I still have Parkison's, but I am living a much fuller life again.
I am not very good at writing, and this is only the seconded time that I have ever chatted, I hope this will give someone a little hope to press on!
