We all know that we are struggling to find something... ANYTHING... to relieve our symptoms... let alone cure or reverse them.
I do think that "laboratory-style" red light therapy shows promise. But there are many "pseudo/fakle" red light therapy systems being sold for up to THOUSANDS of dollars that are totally WORTHLESS!
Here's the TEST: ... place your hand over the red lights... do you see that red light shine through and display on the back of your hand?
WATCH these two researchers/ scientists (one is an M.D. and the other is a Chiro) --DE-BUNK ... "over-the-counter red light therapy"
Here's the link... watch this very informative video about red light 'penetration' from the 'toys' that are being sold for THOUSANDS of dollars (rip off!)
skip to the 4:57 minute mark to see the experiment that this M.D. and scientist did with a red light and a piece of raw, bisected head of a lamb ... NO penetration!
I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water. I'm sure some cheap red light gadgets are a waste of money, but there has been considerable research done to determine how and if various forms of near infrared light penetrate the skull. I am very confident about the wellred coronet and Vielight.
It is pretty much impossible, for me anyway, to try to see if the light from the helmet can shine through flesh. There is just too much red light about from the other leds. But I am significantly more confident about being able to do it with the therapad made with the same leds - although it is still quite hard to stop light leaking between gaps.
On that basis, I am fairly confident I can see the therapad light through my fingers (not the gaps in my fingers - probably).
But your points were both good. There are a lot of toy lights out there, which are unlikely to provide the same therapeutic benefit as devices like the Coronet may do, and there has been a fair amount of research and trials on the subject using quality equipment.
And some of that research points to redlight stimulation "migrating" around the body, so that there is not necessarily a need for red light to act directly on the neurons in question. Indeed, even accepting the amount of penetration that the Coronet is claimed to achieve, its not reaching the neurons in the substantia nigra - so if its helping them, its an indirect effect
There are times when you can't beat a good placebo effect, just as long as its working for you!
At the end of the day, we each have to do our own research and make our own cost/benefit analysis. We don't have the luxury of waiting. I find the evidence of Photobiomodulation to be encouraging and worth the cost. You apparently don't. That's fine. Neither of us can be sure we are right. There's no point in arguing. Don't buy a red light product. As for me, I'm glad I did.
I highly recommend digging deeper in to the science of red light therapy before making big conclusions.
There is a lot of scientific videos on this subject, many many hours worth. I recommend seeking out more info than your short video. Just my humble opinion.
I've been researching 'red light therapy' for almost a year... your reply to me was very fast indicating you did not take the time to review the scientific links i provided...
one tip... get ... sunshine! i do at least 30 minutes on my face and back... 3 - 5 times weekly... i researched that thoroughly and yes, the 'sun' does penetrate through the skull
"Serotonin and melatonin have also been implicated in many mental and cognitive disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and sleep disorders [25,29]."
“…However, these results suggest that autophagy is altered by Hight Temperature (HT) in skeletal muscle cells, and suggest that HT could be a therapeutic approach to target autophagy in skeletal muscle. Strategies such as hot water emersion, sauna, or localized heat application may provide therapeutic benefit, particularly in conditions with dysfunctional autophagy. ”
I wonder than Gio if devices like this , brain cooling devices have a negative affect? Maybe calming the brain by cooling the brain reduces the glymphatic systems cleansing and autophagy. But it has been shown that cooling the brain reduces insomnia.
Im not across the conceptual framework at all, but i would point out that my home security cameras have LEDs that, when you look directly at them, glow red, but produce no visible light to the naked eye, or at least no significant amount. When you look on the monitor, of course, the yard looks like the Shibuya Crossing, swimming in IR light.
All of which is to say that the relevant light may not actually be visible to the human eye, even if the LEDs light up in a fashion that results in some of their own visible light.
(I also dont own a hat, but from what i am hearing, the LEDs visibly glow red).
if you watched the video then you know that the 'red light toys' (even those costing thousands)... are worthless.... PMB is real... and works.... in the laboratory ... once company is now doing a stage 3 trial with results in 2024
Yes, it is real and can work but many for home use do little or nothing. Do you have any links to the trial you mentioned? Could be worthy of its own post.

Hello PDWarrior, I purchased the coronet several months ago, i think almost 2 years ago. Its done absolutely nothing to improve my tremors but it has definitely helped cleared my (mostly early morning) brain fog. My brain fog has, though very gradually, now completely disappeared.
I have no vested interest in the coronet and would be ready to dump it as wasted investment if it wasn't helping me at all. But it has. And its definitely NOT placebo effect
By the way I watched your posted video. My background is software development not electrical engineering or physics (though I don't code anymore these days), so much of it was mumbo-jumbo to me. So I'm very glad i had been using the coronet and experienced the benefits long before you posted your video otherwise you'll have dissuaded me from owning a very valuable and helpful tool
Been dubious since day 1 of using my Coronet, but I agree with healthabc above that my sleep is better. I used to do it once/twice earlier in the day, now once in the evening and sleep is improved.
