α-Synuclein (a-syn) oligomers and fibrils are behind neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease (PD), but therapeutically targeting them is challenging. Amphipathic and cationic helical peptides inhibit amyloid formation and suppress neurotoxicity by selectively binding the solvent-accessible regions in these toxic species. Can endogenous peptides, like LL-37, constitute a new therapeutic paradigm in PD?
And anti biofilm too! The human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide LL-37 as a potential treatment for polymicrobial infected wounds frontiersin.org/articles/10...
I have a strong believe that my PD was initiated by toenail fungal infection 5 years earlier. Also, I had some success using Thymosin A1 & B4 peptides.
Hi Bear1927 - What kind of success you are noticing by using Thymosin A1 & B4 peptides? Do you have a link for these peptides to order them online. Thanks!
Thymosin A1 could be enough depending on severity of your symptomps. For the last 3 weeks I did daily injections, now I do 1 Tymosin A1 injection every other day. This did really help me to feel "alive and mobile" and now I managed to reduce the amount of levedopa/madopar

the dose is 5mg

Dr. Elizabeth Yurth of Boulder Longevity Institute specializes in peptides. I learned about her from Dave Asprey. Maybe she could tell us more about this.
"LL-37 is an anti-microbial peptide. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against multiple Gram-positive and Gram-negative human pathogens. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have the potential to serve as an alternative to antibiotics. It's simple, AMPs kill the microbial pathogens (the bugs). AMPs can possibly regulate bacteria/virus invasion and may control infection. It has been reported that AMPs could be used to activate the innate mucosal immune response in order to get rid of the infections. (Mucosal refers to the immune response at mucosal membranes of the intestines, the urogenital tract and the respiratory system, i.e., surfaces that are in contact with the external environment).
LL-37 belongs to the cathelicidin family of AMPs. It is released as a mature peptide when neutrophils (type of white blood cell) are stimulated. LL-37 is expressed in various cells and tissues such as circulating neutrophils, bone marrow cells, epithelial cells of the skin, cells in the gastrointestinal tract, as well as in the epididymis and lungs.
Production of LL-37 in macrophages is stimulated by vitamin D released by sunlight through the skin. LL-37 plays an important role in the first line of defense against infection and systemic invasion of pathogens at sites of inflammation and wounds. It is toxic to both bacterial and normal cells and is very resistant to proteolytic degradation.
Staphylococcus aureus, (staph for short), is one of the largest problems facing modern medicine, particularly since it has become resistant to a number of antibiotics. Research with LL-37 shows that it is effective against staph at nanomolar concentrations. It kills the bacteria both when it invades cells and when it is free, and is more effective than conventional antibiotics. These features make LL-37 of particular interest to the medical field and it is hoped that the peptide will be useful in treating chronic infections, such as those who have diabetes or immune system dysfunction. It has also been effective in treating Candida albicans and E. coli.
Several studies show that LL-37 is effective in treating certain cancer cell types. LL-37 inhibits gastric cancer cell proliferation by the activation of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling. However, overexpression of LL-37 was found to promote development and progression of ovarian, lung and breast cancers."

No! There is no cure, and in my opinion there never will be. Why should anybody, other than Pd patients, want to cure an illness that does not kill us?You can reverse your many of your symptoms by doung specific aerinic exercise, learning to use your conscious barin to control your movements, takiing a positive attitude to Pd, doing regular BRAIN exercises, getting rid of stress as much as you can, and standing erect.
Hi, Did you contact me and f you did, did I respond and send you my videaos and articles? My laptop went on the blink and I lost several files. Sorry about that!
This is what my PWP was doing and was doing well. However, sudden turn for the worse in November with increased anxiety. So PK meds increased. Now delirium. Now do we get a a person with delirium back on track? Tried to reduce meds but panic attacks on reducing. We are in a vicious circle.
How far was she walking? What was her time? I am asking so that I know how fit she is.
Have you taken her to any doctor other than a neurologist? What you describe does not sounf like a Pd symptom! I would be wary of taking more Pd medication to fix that problem.
I am not a doctor but a sudden change like that does not sound loike Pd to me.
John do you see what you did.You turned a string of informative posts on the subject LL-37 into a string of posts on fast walking , why dont you make your own string and and stay out of everybody elses. Then we can interrupt you and say it could not possibly work and then turn it into a string about something else. How would you feel John. You would probably say we were rude and ignorant.
I have started my own string but it never developped into a dicussion, which means that either, nobody is interested in getting better, or they don't believe in what I am recommending that they do. Fortunately, there are many patients, who have stopped looking for a different way of dealing with their symptoms, after having been made aware of an opportunoty to reverse them. They have now embarked on reversing them. Those that have had success and have started to return to normal life again, are thrilled beyond belief.
Not everybody is prepared to try to help themselves, but I have to keep trying to reach those who know nothing about the fast wallking option.
It is those people, who are unaware of what they can do to help themselves, who are looking for a treatment that works, being unaware that there is a way of beating Pd. I therefore don't feel guilty about what I am doing, but maybe I am just wasting everybody's time. Some people caanot be helped!
