Alternative & up & coming treatments for Parkinsonā€™s. Help me make a list ?!

ā€¢25 Replies

Calling the determined and optimistic to help me compile a list of all that we do and know of that can help PWP. šŸ˜Š

(Iā€™m signing off with a happy post as I am returning to work life tomorrow. Thank you for putting up with my inundating you all as of late. I seize the time while I have it.).

So, letā€™s please share what helps PWP and positive trials worth looking in to.

Often there is a big overlap and much inspiration to be found amongst people with other neurodegenerative diseases.

Diet makes a BIG difference! This video inspires me. Itā€™s the wonderful Dr. Terry Wahl. Her protocol is good for PWP too.

Dr. Cynthia Li, from bedridden with debilitating autoimmune disease to wellness with mindfulness. (PD is thought by me and many to be autoimmune)

I read her book about her experience. It was good although not specifically relevant to PD. She is a practitioner of Wisdom Healing Qigong, as am I.

My list of interventions which I know you have already seen and am including for completeness:

Thiamine, exercise and cinnamon particularly helping me:

ā€¢ Vigorous daily exercise

ā€¢ High-dose thiamine, courtesy of Dr. Antonio Costantini highdosethiamine.org/ healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

ā€¢ Cinnamon, extensively researched by Prof. Kalipada Pahan, PhD. My report healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

ā€¢Mannitol parkinsonsnewstoday.com/202...

A recent study came up with no effect but some people have said it helps.

ā€¢ Ambroxol healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

A decent review of what we all should be doing already. This should be pretty basic for anyone serious about healing.

THe Mayo Clinic Study proves that High Intensity Aerobic Exercise produces BDNF and GDNF, which repair the damaged Glial cells and produces more dopamine , which reverses the symptoms. Other studies have also proved this. I was diagnosed with Pd . by 4 different neurologists, all confirming the diagnosis. In 1994 I started to do Fast Walking and by 2002, I had been anble to stop my Pd medication and have lived PD-medication -free since then. I am now 87 and still living a normal life, albeit with Prstate Cancer.

I don't know why I bother but gdnf doesn't repair glial cells and glial cells don't produce dopamine

What is your understanding of 'neurotrophic'? I never said glial, cells produce dopamine, they manage the production of dopamine. Have you not read the article on the Mayo Clinic trials?

WinnieThePoo profile image
WinnieThePoo in reply to JohnPepper

I've read it John. Which glial cells manage the production of dopamine?

As for my understanding of neurotropic, maybe you need to work on your definition of "derived"

As in "comes from" or "made by". GDNF is the neurotropic factor MADE BY glial cells

What is the meaning of ;Neurotrophic'?

WinnieThePoo profile image
WinnieThePoo in reply to JohnPepper

Neurotrophic factors are a family of biomolecules ā€“ nearly all of which are peptides or small proteins ā€“ that support the growth, survival, and differentiation of both developing and mature neurons.

You are avoiding the question - What does neurotrophic mean?

He answered it above.

JohnPepper in reply to Juliegrace

That is not the translation of neurotrphic factor!

WinnieThePoo profile image
WinnieThePoo in reply to JohnPepper

Go on then johnYou tell us what it means

JohnPepper profile image
JohnPepper in reply to WinnieThePoo

I don't know! I have always understood it to be 'Nerve repair' or "nerve replace'.

WinnieThePoo profile image
WinnieThePoo in reply to JohnPepper

OK. We are thread crapping. The title of this thread is not "definition of neurotropic". If you want to continue start a new thread.

JohnPepper in reply to WinnieThePoo

I don't follow tour argument. The subject is Ɓlternative Treatments'. Fast walking produces gsnf , which produces more dopamine and symptoms get less.

in reply to JohnPepper

We get it. You have been heard. We know John. Please, I am respectfully requesting that you not monopolize this thread so other ideas can be heard.

You asked for a 'List'. That should include exercise, or do you only want medication?
