Insoles and other devices for balance in Parkinson's disease?

Good morning, I am a biomedical engineering student from Georgia Tech and I am doing some research about balance in Parkinson's disease. I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with insoles and if so, how was it? If not, which device did you use for balance problems?

Thank you in advance!

I had insoles made several years ago by a podiatrist who had done some work with Parkinson's patients. The orthotics had a ridge just ahead of the ball of the foot that the toes sat over. I still use them and find that little addition helps with my balance. Unfortunately, the podiatrist has since retired and I have moved away from where he was located. If you are interested, I could try to track him down so you could get more specific information directly from him.

I tried some kybun shoes for a fortnight - they say the rebound effect of the soles is helpful. I think it did help with gait and balance but the shoes themselves were not comfy enough to merit the vast expense so they had to go back (ankle bone position and I think I'm between their sizes...). What's good is that they offer a trial service where you can pay £20 and get a pair to wear as much as you like for 2 weeks so nothing lost.

Currently waiting for NHS podiatrist appointment to see if they can help.
