COViD Booster Side Effects: the same as the second dose

Hubby just got the Moderna booster about eight months after his second dose of Pfizer. He experienced 3 days of extreme fatigue and significantly worsened PD symptoms, kind of like his meds weren’t working. Today, he’s pretty much back to normal. This was a very similar reaction to what he had on dose two of Pfizer. I had hoped that by switching to Moderna the reaction might be milder, but it wasn’t.

We decided to do it now and get it over with before the holidays, as we will be in some large gatherings, but it was pretty rough and somewhat dangerous as he was fainting…not sure it was the best choice but we’re over it now.

How is everyone else navigating the vaccinations?

I’m getting my booster next week and anticipating a difficult day or two. I felt awful for about 36 hours after my second Moderna shot.

Well even though the Moderna booster seems necessary I will say that my husband did not have much pain and fever that others had but there was a significant problem with his walking shortly after the second shot but things have kind of gone back to how they were before but he has to really concentrate on his walking. He used to be a very fast walker and I could not keep up with him. For years he walked 3 or 4 times a week on the country road by our house probably a few miles each time. He rides the exercise bike now instead of walking.

You were unlucky, I just had my third Pfizer shot, with no side effects at all . Not even tender at the site. Even with your symptoms, , you did well to get the vaccinations.
