Johnson & Johnson vaccinations. Side effects?

Our county is getting Johnson & Johnson vaccination. I'm waiting for my confirmation of when I'm going to be going in. Has anyone already had it? Any side effects that you have noticed? My husband who does not have PD had Moderna couple weeks ago. He had a sore arm for a while and felt like he had something but he functioned throughout the day. Thanks Mary

I just had mine about 5 minutes ago. I'm sitting in the little room by the pharmacy.

Well, it has been just about 24 hours since I got the shot. No pain at the site of injection, my arm does not hurt. Last night I felt a little bit weird like I had something, my nose got really stuffed up my face got flushed. After eating supper I felt bloated. No temperature. Slept just fine. This morning I felt okay. So now I can keep my fingers crossed that it will protect me and protect others from me. Of course I'm still wearing masks and will be for quite a while.

Have you noticed any change in your symptoms since the Pfizer shot?

No, I haven't, thank goodness. I got through the whole thing better than I thought I would and it makes me feel a lot better to have it over with..

No, my symptoms are about the same, if not a little better.

I'm getting the J&J in a few days. I think it's a good one! Overall, reports are that it has a bit fewer side effects than the others. Let us know how yours goes!

As a follow-up, I got the J&J vaccine Monday afternoon. That night I got some mild chills and body aches and didn't sleep well at all. Tuesday felt quite flu-like. Started to feel better that night. Wednesday basically back to normal. So about 24 hours of flu-like symptoms. Not bad.

I got the J&J on Monday, so four days ago. I had some relatively mild fever-like symptoms and one night of bad insomnia. My son had a similar reaction. Overall, not bad.

My husband and I got J&J shots on Tuesday with no reaction at all, not even a sore arm. Feels great to think that we might be back to normal in just two weeks!

Did they tell you that? No masks, no social distancing any longer? You won't get COVID19 or if you will, your symptoms will be minor?

New CDC guidelines issued a few days ago might answer your questions about masks and distancing, Despe. The J&J shot reaches full effectiveness two weeks after getting the single shot. Modern and Pfizer are fully effective two weeks after the second shot.

Thank you. I was hoping you would answer my questions.

I believe everyone is different. I've gotten the moderna vaccine and had stiff joints on the second shot. First shot slight headache. Other people I've heard from second shot had headache, joint pains, vomiting, diarrhea, and other symptoms. It is funny because they were younger than me too. So depends on person.
