I was diagnosed with PD almost nine years ago. My dad had it also, he died from complications after 7 years of steady downward progression. I am now 68. I was on the same downward direction, but then started taking Lion's mane extract, 3 g / day. It has greatly helped me maintain a somewhat "normal" lifestyle. I also take CD/LD 3 times a day. The LM gets lots of credit though, I noticed the difference after the first month or so. Then, out of curiosity, I stopped taking it. Major symptoms returned. I started back on it, major symptoms retreated. I am a believer. I also take, Ceylon cinnamon, Turmeric and mannitol. But the LM is the key, or so I believe.
Try it, it wont harm you and it might help you.
Great feedback JimColdguy! I'm trying to nail down the details on dosages. 3 grams. Good info. Do you take capsules? Powder? Care to share your brand info please?
0.60865240606056 tsps. A little over 1/2 tsp, I suppose. My husband is taking it but he measures it with a measurement little spoon that came with LM powder.
I take capsules, get them on Amazon, " Real Mushrooms" are the brand, out of BC Canada. I take (3) capsules, twice a day. These are water extracted. 🍄I still have PD, its not a cure. But it seems to help me function. I also have recently started using Aloe Vera extract, definitely helps with constipation. Feel better about eating now since i can get rid of it when needed.
PD sucks!!!!
Another source for all sorts of mushrooms and mushroom blends is Host Defense (hostdefense.com/ ) owned and run by Paul Stamets' organization 'Fungi Perfecti' here in the PNW.
Host Defense may also be available on Amazon, but I prefer to buy them directly from the maker. I know how Paul Stamets is about mushrooms, so I know they will be high quality consistently.
