Have any of you keen gardeners out there looked into growing your own mucuna? I understand it is not at all difficult to grow, except for the handling of the irratant hairs while harvesting/processing. I believe there is also another type call mucuna utilis that has no irritating hairs. Im very interested in growing and making into a tincture and thereby contributing to my own wellbeing. Given the fact mucuna works on symptoms and appears to be neuroprotective, growing it oneself appeals to me, and of course would it be free. Keen to hear from anyone growing this bean, or fava beans.

Growing Mucuna
Requires a lot of research on whether the climate of your country and the soil in your land supports the plant, unless its one of those plants that can grow anywhere.
Also you have to ask what processes have to be done for it to be consumable by humans. Some processes are not cost effective unless they are done on a commercial scale
Not trying to discourage or scare you off it... but give you realistic logistics to think about before you venture into it
Wish you the best
Thanks for your thoughts. I understand what yr saying. I’m a herbalist and grow many plants already. Making tinctures is easy and doesn’t require a lot of knowledge/effort. If I can find some seeds, I’m going to give it a go.
There is a lady in Tennessee US who is a fava bean expert. Google “Aunt Bean”. She grows her own for years now.
