I had this problem for the last two years. Have been using elastic rope for overhead stretches and to my surprise the pain has gone completely and I can raise and rotate my arm in every direction without any issues. This took 6 months or so.

ooooh that could be helpful. just had a shoulder injury (fracture) but when i get to the point of physical therapy...i will need exercises to strengthen and mobilize.

It's not so difficult exercise. Only a resistance band (available on Amazon or any other online store) is needed. The stretching strength of the band should be low (15 to 20 lbs). The exercise example I am following is as shown in the first half of video below

It is possible that the full length stretches are not possible at the beginning. One has to start with the extent possible. With Daily routine the range of motion is improved gradually until a full range movement becomes possible within 3 to 6 months. The elastic rope I use is shown in the picture below
