Senolytic Supplements: Quercetin and Fisetin

Hidden clued me into quercetin and fisetin, And LAJ12345 just had quercetin on their list of Mucoactive natural products healthunlocked.com/cure-par... and laglag and SilentEchoes had some great information at healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

I started looking at these from the angle of: Targeting senescent cells: approaches, opportunities, challenges ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... . There are challenges (like where do the dead cells go?).

Anyway, I found this trial "Senescence in Chronic Kidney Disease" clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show... and they are testing Dasatinib against Quercetin. The interesting part is the protocol for Quercetin: take four 250 mg capsules daily (total 1000 mg daily) for 3 consecutive days.

So... this does not seem like an "every day" type of supplement. At least not for the purpose of removing senescent cells. Seems more like a "hammer those cells for 3 days at 1000 mg" type of thing.

Dr Green believes in treating aging using all three: 100 mg dasatinib for three days, 1,000 mg of regular quercetin for three days, 1,500 mg of regular fisetin for three days.

dasatinib is prescriptions, so maybe 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Interesting trials of Fisetin also:

Alleviation by Fisetin of Frailty, Inflammation, and Related Measures in Older Adults (AFFIRM-LITE) clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show... Fisetin 20mg/kg/day, orally for 2 consecutive days

Senolytic Drugs Attenuate Osteoarthritis-Related Articular Cartilage Degeneration: A Clinical Trial clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show... Fisetin 100 mg capsules (~20 mg/ kg/ day) will be administered orally for two consecutive days (days 1 and 2) followed by 28 days off. A second course will be given for two consecutive days (days 31 and 32)

Check out the interviews with Dr. Green on Modern Healthspan.
