I watched Dr Berman's video. He makes it seem miraculous. What's the reality?

Thanks,

Kevin

Sorry, it appeared on my laptop but disappeared and I can't find it now. Maybe google Dr Berman to find it?

I just got this from the sales staff:

Thanks for your inquiry and interest in our products. Please note that they are sold as general wellness products and are not medical devices intended for a particular condition. For Parkinson's disease, you could try the Neuro Gamma. For a mid-to-late stage, we also recommend using X-plus together with Neuro Gamma.

I got the exact same reply upon my inquiry to Vielight. Since it’s not FDA approved for Pd they can’t recommend it for that. I’m considering getting the set, still doing my research. Dr Berman has a couple other things up his sleeve, look at his website. Very promising I think.

I gave a whole evaluation of how it helped my husband cognitively.

My husband has been using coronet helmet twice a day and he hasn’t been this well in winter for years. He is also taking a few other new things recently too so we aren’t sure which is doing the trick.

Other additions in the last 6 months to his previous regime are

Apolloneuro Since december

Kemadrin 1/4 x2 per Day

Hardys daily essential nutrients - changed to their new product with added vitamers a few months ago

Ambroxol 2 x30 mg morning and night on week 2

Finally 100% off mirtazapine and sertraline

Rhodiola rosea x 2 per day.

Fish oil changed to one with more EPA 1200 to 300 DHA

5 mg Melatonin at night

Hemp oil, krill oil

Back when I had a job I was notorious for being suckered into buying every pharmacologic product or device that came along. Especially when attending medical conferences, I'd spend thousands of dollars on things that either didn't work or didn't produce any income to the practice. My staff knew not to let me talk to salesmen ever.

That said, occasionally I'd come across something that did work. For instance I learned about prolotherapy and how to use it. And my favorite, ozone therapy, that I still use personally now that I've retired from veterinary practice.

So I'm on the fence about Vielight. I don't have much in the way of physical symptoms; No bradykinesia, etc. But the neurologists are close to taking my drivers license.

And a couple or so on this website have said it didn't work for them. The 'money back' guarantee' helps to move me toward buying. Maybe dip my toe in the pool with the X-Plus intranasal device. Or man-up and buy the whole package. Still thinking.....

Don't purchase and waste money on it. I have used it for a few months and returned back due ZERO efficacy

Sorry but for every person like yourself there is someone with the opposite opinion. From what I've read so far, Berman is either a genius or the biggest fraud since Bernie Madoff. PD due to inflammation in the brain. Commonly in older people there is stiffening of blood vessels. I've seen videos of individual red blood cells moving in a capillary. In the tortuous layer of vessels in the BBB the RBCs can't maneuver as they did when young. I've seen that ozone can keep the RBCs pliant. As can hemodialysis. Back to the video, when treated the RBCs are able to bend to pass through folded capillaries.

So I'll spend (waste?) $500 on the X-Plus intranasal device. And hope for a good response.

OK, No harm in giving it a try

Any thoughts on why it didn't work for you? Videos mentioned other cases where they said it didn't work because they were already self-treating with far infrared matts?

I had contacted the Australian poineer of the redlight therapy 3 years ago about the efficacy of red light therapy in humans. He replied as follows:"I do not know of individuals who have used the Vielight for PD. I only know that they often a substantial refund on the purchase price if you are unhappy with the device.

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend a device that will work for PD with confidence, as there have been no clinical studies yet. The Vielight seems the best of the commercial devices. The home-made bucket has also been successful in some patients, and is by far the cheapest option.

We are running a few trials starting soon, so will let you know more as it comes to light. "

But like you, I cannot resist my compulsion to experiment with new things. I bought it but after months of continuous use I found no relief from it. I can provide you the email address of the Australian researcher whom I contacted.

BTW if you are a rich person and have a lot of money, there is no harm in testing it

in reply toFarooqji

Why should the Vielight be better than the Australian Coronet?I think the Australian is Cheaper and has the 2 wavelengths in the same unit. Anybody who has any opinion?

I don't know that it's better. But the Toronto HQ is driving distance for me in Connecticut. And a lot of the studies are being done at walking-distance Harvard or Yale.

Thanks, I retired because of PD, sold my practice for a decent chunk of change but...I have a wife. She controls the purse. I can buy the whole package with a credit card. But I worry that it won't help me.

It's been a mean couple of years, One doc said I had glaucoma and would be blind within a year. Another said had MS. Another said I had a DVT. Another said I had 100% obstruction of the lateral anterior descending carotid artery. (LAD) Another mentioned LAD is also known as the Widow Maker. Another said I had a clotting disease similar to Lupus.; Antiphospholipid Enzyme Syndrome. (AES) Another said I had tumors in my liver. Then the PD diagnosis. Then another doctor said I had hypertension.

I'm waiting for the next problem, the one that makes me jump off a bridge. ;-)

Just stick to the basic supplements and exercise and wait for the clinical trials outcome. Keep trust in God and pray for yourself and other pwp. I hope that stem cell treatment will be available in the next 3 years on commercial basis. It's the only hope for now

What symptoms were you experiencing that weren't helped by the Vielight?

I typed "Dr Berman photomodulation" into the search mode of both Pubmed and Google Scholar. Pubmed returned ZERO responses while Google Scholar showed nearly 50 abstracts. It suggests Pubmed is more critical when the subject is phot modulation. I read most of the 50 articles. What I found interesting is no negative comments, nobody bitching about this 'unproven science'. Several articles focused on near infrared stimulating mitochondrial function.
