The lights were placed on the head (transcranial), pointing up a nostril (intranasal) and also on the neck and abdomen. {I had thought the VieLight just used lights on the head and up the nose.}

Actually, I'm not really clear on whether the lights were pulsed at 40 Hz in this study or not - it does not seem to explicitly state that. Other VieLight studies indicate the light is pulsed. The head and nose units are called the VieLight Neuro Gamma and the VieLight Gamma nasal device - so I guess those ones were pulsed since they have 'Gamma' in the name ...
Thanks for giving me this information. I'm really glad it is being tested for Parkinson's patients. It was my firm belief that it helped my husband. I don't think the VieLight 810 is pulsed.
I don't know the answer to that question. I looked up vielight contact numbers. Their phone number is 877-355-8012 or customer service nora@vielight.com Good luck and I hope that you can use it as I think it is wonderful. I have terrible peripheral neuropathy caused by chemo and after reading this study, I am going to see if it will help me since neuropathy is neurological.
Thanks for sharing. For neck and abdomen they seem to have used a laser device: "transdermally to the C1/C2 region of the neck and to the abdomen with an Irradia MID 2.5 laser device (4 laser diodes, 39.6 joules) or a MIDCARE laser device (2 diodes 39.6 joules)."
I have the vielight gamma and just purchased the coronet. The vielight has fewer light points than the coronet but it has an intranasal light up the nose.
The coronet has more light points so the whole head is exposed to more light. It is supposed to be 34 times more powerful? When my husband was using the gamma, his sense of smell improved but was not totally restored. After initial improvement it did not go any further. I purchased the coronet duo based on positive feedback from other members here. The coronet is also much cheaper.
Just FYI - I exchanged emails with Catherine from wellred.com.au and she informed me that they are working on a device which can be inserted in a nostril to supplement the coronet. She will email me when it's available.
Hello Millbrook, now that you have used the Duo Coronet for some few more days, what's your overall assessment of the device? How far does it help with tremor? Then with stress and other PD symptoms. Thank you
We started using the coronet 21 May and two weeks later also started the probiotic PS 128. Two and a half weeks after consuming the probiotic and 4 1/2 weeks after using the coronet the following was observed:-
1. Obvious mental alertness as evidenced by driving
2. Speed of driving normal as opposed to slow. Where previously I would discourage him from driving he is doing fine now. The change is like chalk and cheese.
3. Movements like walking and day to day activities normal instead of slow
4. Balance greatly improved and normal- where previously I used to worry about him falling and tripping over uneven surfaces he can walk normally.
5. Sense of smell- no change so far.
6. Less anxiety, better sleep and mood. He still has active dreams and I am monitoring to see if they improve.
My husband does not have tremors.
When we used the Vielight gamma previously we were advised that redlight has to be used for at least 12 weeks before any results can be seen. I do not know low long you have to use the coronet before you see results.
We have been using the coronet for 10 weeks. We like the coronet because it has many more light points all round the head as compared to the Vielight which has a total of 4 light points and the nasal point that goes up the nose. The coronet covers more areas and you do not have to worry about missing important spots. Dr Catherine emphasised the importance of the back of the head where the neck meets the head. Vielight on the other hand shines on the top of the head.
I am very happy with the outcome - my husband cannot see the difference because as far as he is concerned he still cannot smell.
I will definitely continue with probiotic PS 128 and the coronet. I pray that all these improvements can be sustained.
I am sorry but I cannot tell you if it was exclusively PS 128 or the coronet which is why I felt it was important to tell you the time frame so that you can draw your own conclusions.
Wow, thank you very much for sharing your experience using both devices simultaneously... I think you should check if that's medically allowed, I t could possibly lead to some brain overload of some sort
Hi. Yes, my husband is still using the coronet . That’s because he had the most visible improvement on Coronet Duo and psychobiotics PS 128. He has been on both slightly over a year and things are normal and good except for his active dreams.
Hi! I was searching this medium for conversations regarding the red light devices for the head. Your responses like this one are so so helpful. I wanted to say thank you and wish you and your husband continued good health. You seem like such a loving and deeply invested partner❤️.
Hi , I have the coronet from Australia but I combine it with the nasal light from Vie light. I need to look in to whether or not I should upgrade from the Coronet to the vie light helmet. I have put my energy in to learning about supplements and am still too ignorant of how technology works. Is the Vie light helmet actually better?
And I’ve just started learning about PEMF to maybe , possibly add to this.
Don't get too excited yet! This was NOT a blinded study, and it was done on a tiny sample. A ',proof of concept' study is just a first step in. series of studies to demonstrate clinical efficacy. Participants weren't blinded to treatment. Powerful placebo effects cannot be discounted.
