Michael Okun has more recent publications than the one you linked.

Basically, they concluded that it wasnt worth pursuing as a PD treatement specifically.

However, its worth getting your T checked if you are experiencing low T style symptoms. There's some overlap between low T and PD from a non-motor symptom perspective so its worth ruling out (or in) T issues as they are treatable.

About 30 years ago I started having hypothermia. Couldn’t get warm.. always on the edge of shivering. Usually that’s due to hypothyroidism. But mybTSH was normal, so docs wouldn’t give me thyroid hormone. Finally one did, and it worked., i also learned to increase my body temp by deep breathing and to dress much more warmly.

About 15years after that, it started up again.. (had not been diagnosed with PD yet ). This time doc gave me testosterone gel as my T level was very low. That worked tool
