forgot to mention in my last message that my uncle has just started to take cannabis oil for his dyskinisia. I have to say this stops it altogether and even his mobility seems slightly better.

does anyone know the effects of cannabis and parkinsons and is anyone taking it to help symptoms?

I take 20cbd:1THC which definitely helps my sleep, and does help with morning rigidity

I take THC oil and it does arrest my tremor and helps rigidity. I take it straight but not enough to see Lucy in the sky

my uncle takes it straight to. it takes away the dyskinisia and helps him to sleep. he seems to be at his strongest in the morning without any tablets at all but as soon as he takes them he starts to shake.

then throughout the day it's very up and down.

I take it before bed, when I wake it’s easier to fall back asleep

I take 10:10 CBD / THC just at bed time. Helps to sleep and the CBD helps with joint inflammation / pain. No dyskinesia so far, and tremors are mild through the night. Dosage is small just 1 ml under the tongue. BTW for some reason (or I have a placebo issue) vigorously shaking the liquid seems to make it more effective. Not that it separates or has suspension issues - it just seems to bruise the liquid somehow.

I was thinking about using it daytime but I don'y really like the THC effect while awake.

my uncle struggles to eat as he shakes vigorously at meal times. so he has cannabis oil under the tongue beforehand and it seems to do the trick however this makes him more sleepy because of the thc. it seems to be about getting the right balance.

ryzlot do you struggle to sleep at night with parkinsons then?

Sleep is mostly good, some nights I toss-n-turn but sometimes I get 8 hours straight. The THC seems to help

THC or 1:1 cbd/thc work good. 10 mg

Could you tell us the exact product your uncle is using and what type of delivery as well as the exact THC/CBD ratio and is it sativa or indica or a hybrid blend?Thank you!

I had started 1 ratio 1 thc and CBD oil but was getting heavily drowsy. Therefore I stopped it. Once I took a bit higher dose and it caused me to sleep for more than 20 hours. Right now I have started experimenting with only CBD oil without THC. It's been a week since I have started this trial, and it helps me with tremors mood and rigidity. Out of these three the top most positive effect is on mood and subsiding of anxiety. Anyway it's too early to say that these changes are due to CBD oil are something else. THC psychoactive substance and its effect on different people is different. Some people have found it very good for tremor suppression while others have found psychoactive properties counterproductive. CBD is an extremely safe supplement and one can take it up to 300 milligram per day without any harmful effects

I'm so surprised at how many people do take cannabis oil for their symptoms. it obviously works very well! it's nice to hear other people's experiences.

my uncle used the oil form which contains thc. he has it in tiny amounts just enough to relax his dyskinisia.

he doesn't drive now due to his parkinsons so he takes it as and when he needs. thank you everyone for your replies in your experiences. it gives us great comfort. :) 😀

I used cannabis for a couple years, with good success, exclusively in the evenings. It helped with sleep and with "awareness" of various movement issues (presumably by providing a slightly different perspective on them), enough so that I got a bit evangelical about it. But I stopped using it recently, as I felt that (even in the tiny doses I was using) it was starting to contribute to my increasing brain fog, anxiety, and lethargy. YMMV, but I decided that, as much as it helped in the beginning, it was a net negative for me as the PD progressed.

I also tried CBD without THC, but it had no effect on the PD symptoms.
