Right. As I understand it Botox would not be appropriate for relief of tremor. It reduces the response of muscle to nerve impulses and thereby alleviates dystonia in specific muscles in which you can afford to have weakened response to nerve input. Tremor is too broadly based. For Botox have an effect in such a case it would have the applied very broadly, and it seems to me would cause impairment.
I thought it kills the nerve but the nerve regrows eventually. Similar to injecting alcohol to cows after labor. Alcohol dissolves the fatty nerve sheath. It's an old treatment for post partum cows that continue to strain after delivery. Botox "reduces the response of muscle to nerve impulses..." Not exactly how alcohol works but if it dampens the hand tremor then okay.
