Many years ago the US govt passed a law that says ascorbic acid and vitamin C are the same thing. The reason was that many people were fighting a new law that said all juice sold must be pasteurized. Pasteurization destroys all the vitamin C. So now the orange juice container you bought says vitamin C added , but really ascorbic acid was added and it is not the same thing. Many things missing.
The same thing appears to be happening with Thiamine. Every one is calling thiamine hcl and Thiamine mononitrate "Thiamine." guess what its not , close but not the same identical thing. You could eat nuts and things but thats not going to give you the giant mega doses that you guys seem to love. It did not work ? Well then take more.
For Thiamine I eat yeasts whole grains, green veggies like asparagus and peas, seeds, beans, and fish. If I thought I had a Thiamine deficiency then I would augment with the simulated Thiamine that Roy talks about but not as a replacement for natural Thiamine .
Thiamine only stores in the body for a few days and excess high levels are very quickly voided so intake must be daily but the body will decide how much to store (not much) and get rid of any excess.
Are you still taking the 500 mg Thiamine Mononitrate once a day, along with your 3.5 grams of Thiamine HCL? Has the Thiamine Mononitrate helped your tremor? If you stopped, please let us know why, and if you experienced any negative side effects from the 500 mg of Thiamine Mononitrate?
