Has anyone done any research about Proteus Mirabella‘s and Parkinson’s? It is a pathogen commonly found in the gut and a frequent UTI culprit. I have significantly worse motor skills after I had a urinary track infection. Treatment with antibiotics seems to make me a little better. But I didn’t want to stay on them too long. Does anyone know any experts in this area?

If your UTI's are E.coli based, the supplement powder D-Mannose can help you get over it without antibiotics and can be synergistic with antibiotics due to different methods of action. The E.coli bacteria can not become resistant to D-Mannose because it does not attack the virus, but merely binds to it preventing the bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract surfaces and instead the bacteria is simply flushed away when you urinate. E. Coli is the most common cause (90%) of UTI's. D-Mannose has a very good safety profile. Your doctor can tell you if your UTI is E.coli based. If your UTI is caused by another bacteria, Grapefruit Seed Extract can knock it out and may have synergy with antibiotics.

Antibiotics cause a continual cycle of infectios - UTIs; women Vaginal infection. Antibiotics wipe out all bacteria in the gut regardless of good or bad - bad bacteria quickly fills the void in the gut and it leads to continual problems. Our guts is the centre of good health and so I use pre and probiotics. Look to improve your gut health and stick to a clean diet and you will see a difference. It takes time but the effort is worth it.
