Had a worsening of symptoms with Lexapro and Celexa (sister drugs) Felt much better mentally but not physically. Does that mean all SSRI meds are going to have the reaction? Maybe a SNRI like Effexor? Using Remeron now but liked the way the SSRI made me feel?

Interesting first post
Do not pay attention to the insensitive and misguided post above. I would suggest to this person that he/she realize the person they are directing their words to is in a sensitive position.
Antidepressants and other psych meds do not work for everyone but do work well for many, I know from experience. They literally saved my life.
I have heard SSRI’s can make PD symptoms worse. I don’t know if that’s true, again, probably for some and not for others.
Mirtazapine is supposed to be a good match for PD, according to Dr Laurie Mischley.
Increasing exercise, reducing sugar and eating a healthy diet, spending time with friends and family, meditation and or prayer, practicing gratitude are all helpful.
A movement disorders doc or a psychiatrist recommended by them, may be able to steer you in the direction of antidepressants that don’t affect your PD symptoms.
Not sure what the first poster was going for? Sarcasm? I hope someone with experience with the drugs you are talking about will post or that your GP can help. Good luck!
