I swear by his work. You have to do the work though. I meditate somewhere between 1/2 hour to 3.5 hours daily. The benefits have been great and my condition continues to improve.

Based on your advocacy I have a number of his books. I am receiving substantial benefit from this latest acquisition: Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One. I highly recommend it.

I love hearing this!

My commitment to his practice has had a huge positive affect on my condition. I will be writing about this further next year sometime.

I know now, I can beat this disease and live a very normal life. I’m not saying I won’t have PD, that has yet to be seen. I am saying however I will be virtually symptom free.

This is great information, thank you! I’ve been delivering about meditation so this just solidifies my resolve. 😀

Apparently it relates to PD because meditation elevates dopamine?

30 years ago my 26 year old wife Ellen developed cancer. Her excellent oncologist sent her to an 8-week meditation class based on Jon Cabat Zinn's work. The instructor said Ellen would be welcome to the class but only if I came too. At first I didn't want to be involved: Meditation??? Too hippy-dippy, artsy-fartsy for me.

The class was 20 women in their 50's...and me. But eventually I got it and did better than Ellen did. She was happy that chemo had worked. Meditation's effect was minor in comparison.

But I got very involved after the class ended. I would drive two hours to Park City for evening classes and week-end sessions.

But couldn't keep it up because of work. Ironic, meditation relieves work stress but couldn't take a few minutes out of the day to practice.

Now I've got new stressors; I'm retired and can't find enough to do to fill my days.

I hope everyone takes the time to listen to him, I’ve attended two of his workshops and will go again in the future. He’s amazing as are the results.

Thanks to you inspiring me, I have now started too, mostly via I am the Placebo. Could you share which of Joe’s meditations you have found most useful?

Many thanks

That’s difficult I’ve downloaded about 15 of them and rotate through them all. My mother loves the “ you are the placebo” meditation. I do like “space and time” and the “ pineal gland” but that’s a more advanced meditation. Probably best to start with some of the earlier ones that are more beginner.

When were you diagnosed, if you don't mind my asking.

Hi PD Gal4. In 2015, but symptoms looking back started in 2013. I haven’t been back to my neurologist since 2017.

The disease started off rather bad for me but today I live in very normal life. I still have some very minor symptoms and I’m hopeful by the end of 2021 they will be gone too.

I do take Nutrivita ldopa with green tea, twice a day now. Sometimes I’ll have a 3rd dose of 40% Barlowes but overall my supplement intake has decreased. My off periods are very mild and fluctuate between no symptoms and mild symptoms. That’s why I know I’m on my way to healing and I credit i it to the meditation.
