Presence and absence of tremor: eurekalert... - Cure Parkinson's
Presence and absence of tremor
1st paragraph: "Remarkably, the medication brings no benefit in reward learning to patients who do exhibit tremor."
4th paragraph: "The study of the Radboud researchers reveals that this improvement through medication only occurs in patients who experience tremor."
I'm confused.
But then I'm tremor dominant and on medication, so maybe that explains my confusion?
Or doesn't explain it?
Interesting. The abstract of the research paper seems to be saying something else: "In non-tremor patients, dopaminergic medication improved reward-based choice, replicating previous studies. In contrast, in tremor-dominant patients, dopaminergic medication improved learning from punishment."
Effects of dopamine on reinforcement learning in Parkinson’s disease depend on motor phenotype:

My confusion has been resolved. With a little prompting from me, the university has changed the sentence in the 4th paragraph of the press release to now say : "The study of the Radboud researchers reveals that this improvement through medication only occurs in patients who do not experience tremor."

I don't expect the EurekAlert people to change their version of the press release.
