Interestingly my vet in France is proposing a CBD product for my 10 year old German Shepherd dogs arthritis, on the basis it is significantly less harmful than Metacam

I have never been able to ascribe any change in symptoms whatsoever to intake of CBD oil at any time or under any circumstances. The only reports which do note changes in symptoms seem to concern what is known as "medical grade" CBD oil. Whatever that is, apparently it is only available with a prescription.

My conclusion, and this may be entirely personal to me, is that commercially available CBD oil relies on the placebo effect.

(And, in case you were wondering, there doesnt seem to be any effective measurement of the strength of the commercial stuff)

On the whole, CBD oil seems to do less harm than good.

Well that is interesting about your 10 year old Shepherd, we however , in Canada, now can buy all MJ/Hemp products without Rx. I have tried MJ cookies for my insomnia, it works, and we eat an Avocado daily with 1 tsp of Hemp oil (Organic) and 1 tsp of MCT oil and Worcestershire sauce for a different taste for overall general stiffness , after a 2 day break I start to get all knotted up, so back to the Hemp oil.

Our 12 year old Shepherd cross ? was starting to move more and more slowly so, pre-the Law changes I gave him a Tbsp of HEMP oil on his regular dry dog food and an hour later he would want out and we would watch him start slowly and all of a sudden he would run and jump almost like his former self for a short time but he then walk briskly for several hours.

Hemp oil has no THC, just CBD compounds and is not a Schedule 1 compound. I get mine sent from Nova Scotia in 3 days to mid backwoods BC.
