Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issues as I am with my wife as MemoryI'm struggling with memory issues and sometimes my comprehension is not 100./' and understandingly she finds it hard to deal with and gets angry which seems to make my symptoms worse from the stress. Not sure where I'm going with this, mainly just having a bit of a moan and getting it off my chest.

Memomy issues and stress.
This is a tough one. I want to keep my wits about me but I also find my memory is much worse these days . I am kind of glad I live alone since I only have myself to really irritate. It seems each thought replaces the last one if I don’t write down what I’m thinking or immediately deal with it, it is simply gone. Poof! Might come back, might not.
I think what you’re experiencing is quite normal and perhaps if you had something she could read or if you could let her know it is frustrating for you also, might help?
I think spouses do find it hard to understand what of is like you can't expect them to I suppose as bizarre as it sounds I try to ensure my wife doesn't see me at my worst eg first thing in the morning I do get up early as I have a 14year old
My hubby’s memory for details seems sharp still, more his memory of how to do a process that’s a problem, or thinking to do something. Eg have a shower, haircut, put washing out. But bridge he is still scoring as highly as ever. I think it’s something to do with executive function in the brain not actual memory.
Thank you for the response, and I think you are correct my issues are much the same.
Have you brought this up with her neurologist? My husband is on a couple of meds that seem to help. Didn’t get his function back totally, but it helped a bit & helped stop the decline.
Do you mind sharing the meds? Thank you!
Rivastigmine patch & Memantine tablet. There were a couple other drugs that we tried, but discontinued due to side effects.
Thank you! Both of these meds are for dementia. Not suitable right now. . .
My husband has cognitive issues, but not dementia! Yes, those 2 drugs can be prescribed for dementia, but that’s not necessarily true for persons with Parkinson’s. Doctors often prescribe drugs for a condition that is different from that for which the drug was first developed. My point is that your husband’s neurologist might be able to prescribe something that could help your husband, that’s all.
Thank you. All PwP have some cognitive decline, I am aware of it.

CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that higher glucose levels may be a risk factor for dementia, even among persons without diabetes. (Funded by the National Institutes of Health.).

It is true that our spouses cannot fully understand what it's like for us. That's just the way it is. At the same time, we can't understand what it's like for them. If the irritability is situational, and not chronic, consider that she may be angry and impatient because she loves you so fiercely. Darn right she's angry! At the disease! And she's frightened. In those moments, maybe she's not fighting WITH you, she's fighting FOR you. Even the gentlest of souls will fight for what they believe in with all their hearts.
i have been fortunate over the last 15 years that I have had a good life quality as being labeled with Parkinson’s. now my life is about to change as I am now labeled as having Parkinson's dimentia and am about to lose my drivers licence which translates into taking away more independence. I am only 59 . Needless to say having Parkinson’s sucks.
So sorry to hear it. Who/how it was determined that you have PD Dementia?
Did you ever take nootropics (LO, Citicholine, etc)?
What is LO?
LO = Lithium Orotate and per discussions on this forum, LO is generally referring to very low dose lithium, at less than 21 mg per day. This form of lithium is inexpensive and available without a prescription and avoids the bad side effects of standard dose lithium .
Here is a link to a post that discusses how LO may be useful in PD, AD, dementia, cognitive decline and memory issues :

I am so sorry!! I am 59, too, and it feels so unfair to have a PD diagnosis at any age, but losing your independence is a very tough situation indeed. Virtual hug...
Please stay strong. Life is not over until it is.
Perhaps LO is something you can consider with your doctor to see if it is compatible with current meds :
