Has anyone tried a digestive enzymes supplement? Has it helped?

I have always had what my docs now call IBS, type A, for 60 years. I have taken digestive enzymes and many other supplements, including a pro biotic, for many of those years. Has it (or they) helped? How does one tell? What do I compare it to? My problems with IBS have changed and gotten better and worse over that time, but how much is due to supplements is impossible to know.
