Too much C/L

Hi Everyone I'm on a very low dose of C/L (2 x 1/2 a day of 12/50). It has had a very good effect on my mental health, which was one of the reasons for taking it, as trying to come off 35 years of low dose Neuroleptics.

However it seems to increase rigidity within 90 minutes of intake, every time.

I have never been tremor dominant, but rigidity and Bradykinesia is a slight problem.

Also, if I increase the dose, it makes me lethargic.

It was hoped that this CL would alleviate rigidity as well as low mood.

I don't really want to discontinue due to the much improved mood.

Should I perhaps try 1 whole tablet in the evening a day, to minimise rigidity side effects in the day?

I am 60, diagnosed at 58. Parkinsonian Syndrome likely originally caused by Neuroleptic medication.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Rigidity - dystonia - can be caused by too much levodopa. You are taking so little that seems unlikely, but still a good thing to keep in mind. More here: healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

Thank you for your thoughts. I too suspect slightly too much.

I was on low dose 1/2 tab x 3 (25/100) per day and got much worse, the more I take, the worsen I get, mainly dystonia and rigidity. My MDS switch me to Artane and I feel much better now.

Does Artane cause you much drowsiness or other side effects?

Dry mouth and some loss of short term memory. My MDS point out that all PD drugs have some side effects!

Chockly , as far as Artane is concerned, be careful with that medication as you might be jumping from the pan into the fire
