B1 HCL: before, after or with meal

Do you prefer to take B1 before or after meal? Have you noticed any difference?

Personally I prefer to take it with water about 10 minutes before mealtime. I give it a little time to dissolve inside to avoid interfering with possibly incompatible food. I read (B1 FAQ here) that such unwanted food includes any citrus fruits or juices.

Could you name any other products we should avoid together with B1? What about coffee & milk? Thanks.

I have had no problems taking 2 grams on a empty stomach... that’s 20 capsules with a 10 glass of water 1-2 at a time. I. Have tried to do the same with the tablets but there was an after taste.

Try the 500mg capsules. It’s only 4 then.

Thanks for the response, but it is too easy to choke on them.

Answering my own question about coffee. Coffee and tea can inhibit thiamine. Plus sugar loaded food can lead to further malnutrition. So avoid coffee/tea when it’s time of B1.
